Stephanie Burkland joined Insler & Hermann in 2005, after 25 years as a Claims Representative for Social Security, and two years with the Mental Health Association as a Benefit Specialist. While at the Mental Health Association, Stephanie was granted the “Extra Mile Award” for service above and beyond the call of duty. Over the course of her career at the SSA, Stephanie won either the prestigious “Sustained Superior Performance Award” or “Recognition of Contribution Award” every single year.

In the years before she left the Social Security Administration, Stephanie developed a professional relationship with Lew and Gabe, and she was impressed with the level of service they provided to their clients. Today she plays an important role at our firm, assisting clients with claims on a daily basis.

In conjunction with our attorneys, Stephanie interviews many of the firm’s new clients, and is responsible for the electronic filing of all initial applications. In addition, her vast experience and broad knowledge of all facets of Social Security make her a resource for our clients when solving the trickiest bureaucratic problems we face.

Stephanie has been sewing, knitting, and crocheting since she was 13. She makes a variety of different items, including fine shawls and unique baby blankets, which she gives to friends and sells as fundraisers for charity. She also organizes blood drives, which we are proud to host at our different office locations.
