Located in the northeast corner of New York’s Putnam County, Patterson is a rural residential community that welcomes outdoor enthusiasts with a plethora of green space. Nature’s splendor is always on display at Veterans Memorial Park, as well as 400-acre Cranberry Mountain Preserve and the 850-acre Walter G. Merritt Park, a popular hiking destination. The town was originally settled along a natural trail stretching from the Hudson River to New England and served as an important cultural point, as well as a center of agricultural trade, in the 18th and 19th Centuries. Today, Patterson is home to more than 12,000 residents. Folk music legend and activist Pete Seeger is one of the town’s most famous sons.

Hermann Law Group, LLP is a Putnam County disability law firm, representing clients in Patterson and throughout the region as well as in Connecticut and New Jersey. With more than 50 years of combined experience, we do only one thing: represent disabled individuals. Call us at 203-791-2600 or visit our website for a consultation at no cost to you.

A person who is unable to work for a year or more due to a physical or mental impairment (or combination of impairments) is generally eligible for Social Security disability benefits. In order to obtain Disability benefits, a person must file a claim with the SSA, including evidence detailing the claimant’s impairments and their effect on his or her ability to work.

Unfortunately, the SSA initially denies the majority of claims filed, including many in which the claimant is clearly disabled and entitled to benefits. In order to continue to seek benefits, the claimant typically must then appear at an administrative hearing before an SSA Administrative Law Judge. The good news is that this hearing is often a claimant’s best chance to prove the claim.

Our experienced Social Security Disability attorneys can provide vital assistance to a client throughout the claims process, including in the initial application, at hearing and on appeal, if necessary. We know what information must be included in the initial application. We not only guide clients through the process, but also review medical evidence furnished by treating physicians to assemble a comprehensive claim and file it on the client’s behalf.

At Hermann Law Group we practice disability law exclusively, with over 50 years of experience, we win almost three times the national average at the initial application level and more than twice the national average overall, demonstrating that we know what it takes to win! We know how the local Social Security offices consider Disability claims and we are intimately familiar with the decision making processes of the judges who decide appeals. As a result, we understand how to present a claim in the most clear and convincing manner. We are so confident in our abilities that in Social Security Disability cases, we will not charge you a fee unless we win your case.
